Hi, I’m Jackie Victory, glass artist, wife and Mum of three fantastic girls.
My first passion has always been Art, making, and colour – stemming from my O and A levels in art. Learning Traditional stained glass as a hobby from 2002, progressed to learning kiln-formed glass and other techniques such as sandblasting. I love to mix up these techniques to create something different! Glass is now my material of choice to make art and functional objects and has become a mainstay in my life.
My second passion is travel in the UK and overseas, including New Zealand, Australia, India and Nepal and South America. These travel experiences have provided me with great adventure, rich colourful images, stories and memories which inspire my creative ideas.
I left my Kentish home town in 1986 at 18, to train as a nurse in London. I have had a fascinating and varied nursing career which allowed me to travel extensively – including doing voluntary work in India.
My third passion is literature and writing, I have always been a daydreamer – drifting off into a reverie is great for the imagination, as long as it’s not during a resuscitation! I love books, stories, poetry and playing with words.
Having three children in quick succession re-awakened my creative side and after my third child I let go of my busy Specialist Nurse career. Learning many glass techniques over the last decade to make art, leaded panels, objects and jewellery is now my business.
I draw from my varied travel experiences to choose colours for my glass jewellery, platters and bowls.I also enjoy making personalised messages / lettering in glass to enhance happy memories for others, whether it be to mark a wedding, special anniversary, christening or just a favourite inscription to raise a smile!
On this site, you’ll find my portfolio of glass work. If you are interested in commissioning a glass piece – I love the challenge of designing and making something new! Please see my contact page for further details.
